BDSM GLOSSARY
This glossary of BDSM (bondage, discipline, domination, submission, sadism, masochism) terms defines terms commonly used in the BDSM community.
A
Adult baby – Adult Babies is a sexual fetish of adults of all genders who take on the role of babies or young children. Fetishes for adult babies are often sexual, but can be non-sexual and the behavior may include drinking from a bottle, eating baby food, or wearing diapers.
Age play –Ageplay can be sexual. It may be mildly sexual, or very sexual. Within dominant/ submissive relationships, ageplay can enhance power dynamics, and allow a partner to feel more comfortable with their dominance or submission.
Anal sex – Anal sex also called ”Greek” is the act of penetrating the anus and is practiced in heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual relationships.
Anal play – Anal play is a term used for various forms of sexual activity that involve stimulating the anus. Anal play can include anal sex, anal fisting, anal finger penetration, anal beads, strap-on, dildos or vibrators. Anyone of any gender or sexual orientation can give, receive and enjoy anal play.
Animal roleplay –Animal roleplay may also be found in BDSM contexts, where an individual may take part in a dominant/submissive relationship by being treated as an animal.
Ass worship –a submissive act pertaining to BDSM
B
B & D –Bondage and Discipline
BDSM – BDSM is an a combination abbreviation for Bondage and Discipline, Dominance and Submission, Sadism and Masochism. BDSM is a term used to cover a wide range of activities involving fetish and kink, such as bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, and sadomasochism.
Ball busting –Similar to many other sexual activities, CBT can be performed using toys and devices to make the penis and testicles more easily accessible for attack, or for forplay purposes.
Balloon fetish –A balloon fetish is a sexual fetish that involves ballons. A balloon fetishist is also referred to as a “looner“. Some balloon fetishists “revel in the popping of balloons and [others] may become anxious and tearful at the very thought of popping balloons”. Others enjoy blowing up balloons or sitting and lying on them
Blindfold –Use of a blindfold is said to enhance the remaining senses of the wearer, focusing attention on sound, smells and physical contact.
Body worship –Body worship is any practice of physically revering a part of another person’s body, and is usually done as a submissive act in the context of BDSM. Typical kinds of body worship include worship of the penis, the vagina, the breasts, the buttoks, or muscles
Bondage – Bondage is the act of one person restraining another for sexual pleasure. A partner may be physically restrained in a variety of ways, including the use of rope, cuffs, bondage tape, or self-adhering bandage.
Boot worship –Boot worship is the extreme adulation of boots in BDSM, usually carried out while the footwear is being worn by the dominant partner
C
Caning –is a form of corporl punishment consisting of a number of hits (known as “strokes” or “cuts”) with a single cane usually made of rattan, generally applied to the offender’s bare or clothed buttock (see spanking) or hands (on the palm). Caning on the knuckles or shouders is much less common.
Cock and ball torture (CBT) – CBT is penis torture or dick torture is a sexual activity involving application of pain or constriction to the penis or testicles. This may involve directly painful activities, such as wax play, genital spanking, squeezing, ball-busting, genital flogging, urethral play, tickle torture, erotic electrostimulation, kneeing or kicking.
Corporal punishment –Corporal punishment or physical punishment is a punishment intended to cause physical pain to a person
Corsets –The clinical definition of a sexual fetish would require that a person be fixated on a specific garment to the extent that it exists as a recurrent (or exclusive) stimulus for sexual gratification
Cross dressing –The term cross-dressing refers to an action or a behavior, without attributing or implying any specific causes or motives for that behavior. Cross-dressing is not synonymous with being transgender.
D
Degradation –The act of reducing in rank, charakter, or repotacion or of abasing; a lowering from one’s standing or rank in office or society.
Discipline –disciplining a person through torture
Dominant –the dominant one is the one who clearly defines the rules and does not make compromises
Dominatrix –dominant woman
Dungeon –equipped torture room
E
Electro play –Electro-stimulation is stimulation using electricity
F
Facesitting –Facesitting, also known as queening or kinging, is a sexual practice in which one partner sits on or over the other’s face, typically to allow or force oral-genital or oral-anal contact
Femdom – dominant women.
Fetish –Sexual fetishism or erotic fetishism is a sexual fixation on a nonliving object or nongenital body part. The object of interest is called the fetish; the person who has a fetish for that object is a fetishist
Financial domination –Financial domination (also known as money slavery or findom) is a sexual fetish in particular a practice of dominance and submission, where a submissive (money slave, finsub, paypig, human ATM, or cash piggy) will give gifts and money to a financial dominant (money mistress, findomme, money domme or cash master)
Fisting – is a sexual activity that involves inserting a hand into the vagina or rectum.
Flogging –In some circumstances the word “flogging” is used loosely to include any sort of corporal punishment including birching and caning.
Foot fetish – Foot fetish, foot partialism, foot worshipping or podophilia, is a pronounced sexual interest in feet. A foot fetish is the most common sexual fetish for otherwise non-sexual objects or body parts. A foot fetishist may enjoy touching and kissing and licking feet, as well as sucking the toes. Extensions of this fetish include shoes, high heels and boots, socks, odour fetishism and tickling.
Forced BI –The term bisexuality is mainly used in the context of human attraction to denote romantic or sexual feelings toward both men and women
Forced feminisation –when a man is forced to dress in women clothes for pleasure.
Forced masturbation –when a person is forced to have an orgasm
G
Golden shower – Golden showers, also know as ”Watersports”, is any play that involves urine (drinking it, playing with it, peeing on someone), usually for sexual pleasure. In BDSM services, watersports are often used as an act of humiliation
H
Hair fetish –Hair fetishism, also known as hair partialism and trichophilia, is a partialisum in which a person sees hair – most commonly, head hair – as particularly erotic and sexualy arousing.
Hardsports -Also called scatophilia or scat. Is the paraphilia involving sexual arousal and pleasure from feces.
Humiliation –Humiliation is a subjective issue and is dependent on context. It does not need to be sexual in nature; as with many other sexual activities, it is the feelings that are obtained from the experience that are desired, regardless of the nature of the actual activity.
I
Impact play –Proscribed by some authorities, who recommend influential or effiktive instead.
Interrogation –Getting sexual arousal during interrogation

Latex –latex fetish is when a person gets aroused when touching or looking at latex clothes or objects
Leather -Leather fetish is when a person gets aroused when touching or looking at Leather clothes or objects
M
Medical fantasies –arousal in sexual games connected in some way with medicine.
Mistress –dominant woman.
Mummification –mine to be with a different type of material such as bandage, nylon foil, flat weave.
N
Needle play –the pleasure comes from the pain of feeling a needle stick not so deep into a person’s body.
Nipple torture –The nipple are the part of the breast that is commonly used for this type of activity. Pain is typically applied to them using nipple klamps, a type of sex toy. which can be attached to erect nipples to pinch them and to restrict the blood flow to them by applying pressure. When nipple clamps are removed, further pain is caused by the return of normal blood flow. The nipples involved can belong to persons of any gender.
P
Pantyhose fetish –Underwear fetishism is a sexual fetishisum relating to underharments and refers to preoccupation with the sexual exitement of certain types of underwear, including panties, stockings, pantyhose, bras, or other items. Some people can experience sexual excitement from wearing, while others get their excitement when observing, handling, or smelling the underwear worn by another, or watching somebody putting underwear on or taking it off.
Pegging –Pegging is a sexual practice in which a woman performs anal sex on a man by penetrating his anus with a strap-on dildo. This practice may also involve stimulating the male genetalia.
Pony play – Pony play, is a role playing in which one acts as a horse or trainer of said human pony.
Public exhibitionism –is the act of exposing in a public or semi-public context those parts of one’s body that are not normally exposed – for example, the breasts, genitals or butocks. The practice may arise from a desire or compulsion to expose themselves in such a manner to groups of friends or acquaintances, or to strangers for their amusement or sexual satisfaction or to shock the bystander. Exposing oneself only to an intimate partner is normally not regarded as exhibitionism. In law, the act of exhibitionism may be called indesent exposure, “exposing one’s person”, or other expressions.
R
Rope bondage -bondage involving the use of rope to restrict movement, wrap, suspend, or restrain a person, as part of BDSM activities.
S
S&M – S&M, also known as Sadomasochism or SM
Sadistic –Sadism involves deriving pleasure through others undergoing discomfort or pain. The opponent-process theory explains the way in which individuals not only display, but also enjoy committing sadistic acts.
Shibari -Also Kinbaku. In recent years, Kinbaku has become popular in the Western BDSM scene in its own right and has also profoundly influenced bondage, combining to produce many ‘fusion’ styles.
Shoe worship –is the extreme adulation of boots in BDSM usually carried out while the footwear is being worn by the dominant partner.
Sissification –Forced feminization is a very common sexual fantasy. Reasons for engaging in it as a submissive partner include having an outlet for femininity without feeling guilt over it, in a society that pressures men to be traditionally masculine, reinforcing their role in a BDSM role-play scenario through feeling vulnerable, or exploring their sexuality; dominant partners may enjoy bringing out their partner’s “female persona”.
Sissy –Sissy is a term, for an effeminate boy or man, with connotations of being homosexual or cowardly
Slave –In BDSM, Master/slave, M/s or sexual slavery is a relationship in which one individual serves another in a consensual authority-exchange structured relationship
Slave training –Sexual slavery and sexual exploitation is attaching the right of ownership over one or more people with the intent of coercing or otherwise forcing them to engage in sexual activities.
Slut training –Slut-shaming is the practice of criticizing people, especially women and girls, who are perceived to violate expectations of behavior and appearance regarding issues related to sexuality.
Spanking –Spanking is a common form of corpural punishment, involving the act of striking the buttocks of another person to cause physical pain, generally with an open hand. More severe forms of spanking, such as switching, paddling, belting, caning, whipping, and birching, involve the use of an object instead of a hand.
Sploshing –Many people with WAM fetishes are drawn to the tactile sensations of wet or messy substances against their skin. Other individuals simply prefer the visual appeal of others getting wet or messy with products that have different textures, consistencies and colours
Stocking fetish- is a sexual fetishisum relating to underharments and refers to preoccupation with the sexual exsitement of certain types of underwear, including panties, stockings, pantyhose, bras, or other items. Some people can experience sexual excitement from wearing, while others get their excitement when observing, handling, or smelling the underwear worn by another, or watching somebody putting underwear on or taking it off.
Strap on –A strap-on dildo (also strap-on, genitalia or dildo heart) is a dildo designed to be worn, usually with a harness, during sexual activity. Harnesses and dildos are made in a wide variety of styles, with variations in how the harness fits the wearer, how the dildo attaches to the harness, as well as various features intended to facilitate stimulation of the wearer or a sexual partner. Strap-on dildos can be used by people of any gender or sexuality.
Submissive (SUB) –is a situation in BDSM and other sexual activities in which the submissive partner is male or female.
Suspension bondage –Bondage ropes used come in a variety of materials and length. Japanese bondage traditionally uses natural fibers such as hemp and jute which are cut into approximately 25 foot (7.6 m) lengths. Western-style bondage typically uses longer ropes that span a wider variety of materials.
T
Tease and denial –Erotic sexual denial is the practice of refraining from sexual experiances in order to increase erotic arousal and/or tension. The prohibited experience can be narrowly or broadly defined and banned for a specific or indeterminate length of time depending on the practitioner. The experience withheld can be any favored or desired sexual activities, such as specific acts or positions, provided it is something the practitioner wants. Erotic sexual denial is commonly used as sex play between intimate partners, but it can also be indulged in as an individual practice.
Tickling –Tickling results from a mild stimulation moving across the skin, and is associated with behaviors such as smiling, laughter, twitching, withdrawal and goose bumps.
Tie and tease –Orgasm control practices like edging are well-known varieties of erotic sexual denial in which a person is kept in a heightened state of sexual arousal for an extended length of time without orgasam.
V
Voyeurism – Voyeurism Deriving sexual pleasure from watching others engage in sex or other actions usually considered to be of a private nature
Verbal humiliation – Verbal humiliation is a type of erotic humiliation typically wherein the participant is verbally demeaned for sexual arousal by the dominant.
W
Watersports – Watersports, also know as ”Golden shower”, is any play that involves urine (drinking it, playing with it, peeing on someone), usually for sexual pleasure. In BDSM services, watersports are often used as an act of humiliation
Wax play – Wax play is a form of sensual interaction in which a person drips warm or hot wax onto their partner’s naked body. Playing with wax is to introduce a slight burning sensation in the skin, which causes a rush of adrenaline, which increases arousal.
Wrestling – Wrestling is a fetish or kink where the dominant can physically dominate his subordinates to let them know who is in charge.
